  1. Amazed by the courage to start a race like that and the strength to finish it in a competitive position. You are a real motivator.

  2. Jeff,

Awesome report – felt like I was there with you. I particularly like your closing comment in regards to inherent ability to just muscle through the pain and obstacles to the finish. Best of luck at UTMB. I know that will be a massive effort but it sounds like you are more than prepared. I really look forward to reading another great report documenting a successful effort. Cheers. – Steve

  3. Hey Jeff
Great race! Sounded like hell from time to time (or most of the time?). Thanks for sharing the experience. Sounds like this was a great learning race and you are ready to show them how it’s done.
    Best of luck in France!

  4. Thank you for taking the time to post such an detailed and extremely well written race report. You demonstrated an amazing display of what the human body is capable of when being pushed to the extremes- using sheer determination (okay, and a whole lot of training 🙂 Congratulations!

  5. Congratulations on completing this amazing run! We were all following the weather reports leading up to it and knew it would be tough. Your mental strength, problem solving and contribution to this sport is admirable! Most people would have and did withdraw! We are very proud of our Prince George runners! The north has produced some very tough competitors! Congrats!

  6. Jeff,

I’ve been waiting to hear the details of your race – this doesn’t disappoint. Thanks very much for sharing. I hope to hell that UTMB has better live coverage. All the very best.

  7. Amazing, truly inspiring. What is really funny … One of my goals is to run ultra’s and it is the raw determination that I see from you and Reid that has inspired me. Your intrepid stories and languid labours have not deterred me. On the contrary, they have lit a fire and fuelled an unrelenting desire to try and try harder. I have not exceeded 42km yet, but by September I will be ready for the Mad Moose Ultra and it is you I have to thank for that. Maybe thanks are in order for the time being. At the time of the run, perhaps other words might be more appropriate but for now – Thank you for the inspiration.

  8. Fantastic account, Jeff! We’ve all been waiting to hear your story and it does not disappoint. Incredible strength, mental and physical! Or maybe it’s just all that blister juice 🙂
    Thanks for sharing your tale!
